Last post I mentioned that I ate Sottocenere with truffles out of the palm of my hand. Which is true, but it wasn't my first taste. This lovely meal pictured at left is what I had for breakfast before that. My husband cooked this up for me after I blithely tossed out that I'd love some polenta for breakfast. Can you believe this?? It's gorgeous. I sear without Alex I would eat like a caveman (most like a cheese caveman). It would be 24-7 singed meat and cheese out of the wrapper.
The cheese wussed out a bit incomparison to the tasty crispiness of the fried polenta. But the cheese texture was much improved in my book. :) And that was a darn fine way to start the day.

It may sound weird, but the best cheese-related breakfast food I've ever had is pancakes with jarlsberg cheese sprinkled into the batter. They have that salty, sweet thing going (as long as you add a healthy amount of maple syrup!). SO delicious! Maybe if you drop another hint to your husband...
(I wish I could get my husband to cook me breakfast!)
